Welcome to the Library & Community Group Adults and Seniors Classes!
Spring Ephemerals
Early ephemerals burst through the leaf litter as a welcome first sign of spring. Absorbing sunlight before the trees leaf out, these short-lived plants are a treasure to many early emerging insects and bees. In this class, journal the Spring Beauty and the Yellow Trout Lily.
The Summer Garden
At its peak, the summer garden is teeming with activity as it attracts insects, birds, mammals, amphibians and more! From the tiniest flowering groundcover to shade-giving shrubs, garden plants provide food, shelter and protection for busy wildlife that are a delight to observe. In this class, journal the Ruby-Throated Hummingbird and the Calligrapher Hoverfly.
Autumn at the Lake
As winter approaches, we say goodbye to many birds that have been with us all summer. We also see new birds that are stopping to rest while migrating south. The lake in autumn is a fabulous place to see a variety of birds. In this class, journal the Canada Goose and the Hooded Merganser.
Winter in the Woods
Even in the coldest winter months, many species of plants and animals are active in the forest, seeking energy. In this class, we explore the secrets of the winter forest and journal the Ruffed Grouse and the North American Porcupine.
